Specialist Autism Services is committed to providing web content that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of disability, capability or technology.
Our web content can be viewed on a range of different screen sizes, including mobile platforms, and the size of text can be changed to suit different people. Please see below for available accessibility options.
Change the text size, page contrast and greyscale
On the left hand side of your screen you will see three grey buttons that enable you to customise your experience of our website. The top button allows you to toggle the contrast of our website, making all of the white backgrounds black, and the text white. The second button allows you to toggle grayscale, meaning all colour will be removed from each page on our website. Finally you can increase the font size of our website by clicking the button at the bottom.
Distraction free reading
The main content on pages and posts can be reversed out white onto a blue background to make easier to read for those with certain sight impairments. Once you have selected a page you would like to read click on the black boxed icon which appears in the bottom right of each page. Please note – this feature does not work on the homepage, you need to select an article (page or post) to view in this format.
Images – Alternative (Alt) text
We ensure that all images on our site have brief alternative text which describes its content, function or significance.
