Planning a holiday that accommodates the needs of a family member or friend with autism can sometimes be tricky. Everybody deserves a holiday break once in a while and so it is great when we are contacted by organisation’s that have made it their mission to create autism-friendly destinations that can be enjoyed by everybody.

Hartlands Autistic Holiday Centre or ‘Spectrumbreaks’ on the Isle of Wight has been set up to provide holiday accommodation and facilities for families with autistic family members who are searching for a holiday together in the UK. The centre has been designed by Colin & Elaine with help from leading specialist Dr Viv Hinchcliffe to provide self-catering accommodation and facilities to support families with members of any age on the Autistic Spectrum. The centre boasts self-catering apartments, an indoor salt hydro pool, an activity and sensory centre, coffee lounge, games room, gym and sauna.

For more information you can visit their website on www.spectrumbreaks.co.uk or see the link below which features a short video tour of the centre, accommodation and facilities: http://bit.ly/2sm5Fqx

If you operate an autism-friendly or autism-specific service we'd love to hear from you.
