Carers week is an annual campaign to raise awareness and highlight the contribution carers make to our lives. This year our Leeds members and staff decided to host a Carers tea party to say thank you to those who support and care for us.
Throughout the week, we wrote messages of thanks to our carers or staff members that support us at Specialist Autism Services. We displayed these at our tea party, along with decorations which had been prepared for the event by the Textiles workshop. Our Health and Wellbeing workshop also organised some ‘ice breaker’ games so that carers could see the kind of social skills activities we do in service.
We had our celebration on the 14th June, and our Cookery workshop put together a selection of tea and cakes for the event. It was a lovely opportunity to get to know each other better and show our gratitude to those who care for us.
A big thank you to everyone who came along on the day!
