The Community Links workshop based at our Bradford site received an invitation from Sally Balmforth, the fundraiser for the RSPCA Leeds, Wakefield and District Branch who are a local independent animal charity, dedicated to rescue, rehabilitation & rehoming of hundreds of animals in the Leeds, Wakefield & North Kirklees area.
We were greeted by Sally who made us very welcome with a nice cup of tea. We were shown around all the facilities and met some of the animals.
We met the rabbits and the cats and kittens but our favourite star of the show that day was William a proud and handsome Staffordshire bull terrier cross who went to the centre after being ill treated by his previous owners. He is looking for a new, loving home. William was with his trainer who showed us all the things he had already learnt during his stay there. He was so friendly, and behaved so well we all got to give him a treat.
We also met some of the lovely team of volunteers who support with the animal care and help to run the little shop. It was a lovely afternoon and we will be definitely going back in the new year.
If you or your organisation would like to visit them please contact Sally through her email: sally.balmforth@rspcaleedsandwakefield.org.uk
