Leeds CSR Networking

Specialist Autism Services are working with the business community to bring to the forefront the most current solution and approach to fundraising for small local charities.

Companies across the years have always supported their local communities and now Karl Wilson the fundraising officer for Specialist Autism Services is working hard to develop relationships between the corporate world and the smaller local charities who often get overlooked.

Karl Wilson commented that “funding is high on the agenda for all charities big or small, what I would like to do is introduce local business with local charities and keep that support local. Smaller charities do not have the funds and means to hire corporate negotiators to help gain support. This new network of businesses will do exactly that.”

On Thursday 10th August 2017 we worked in conjunction with Business In The Community to host Leeds’ very first free to attend business networking event with a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in support of three other local charities.

The Donkey Sanctuary LeedsSimon on the Streets and Epilepsy Action spoke about the great work they are doing in and across Leeds, identifying areas of support they require.

We had a fantastic time with 25 delegates attending the event at John Lewis’ Community Hub in Leeds city centre.

It was incredible to meet local forward thinking companies who are willing to assess and recognise the good they can bring to their own communities. When local businesses identify the positive impact they can have on environmental and social well-being great things begin to happen in their local community.

We’re really looking forward to bringing you some of the success stories of how everyone has got on in working together.

If you or your organisation would like to join our next event it will be held on Thursday 2nd November 10:00am – 12:00, which we are excited to announce the three charities will be Yorkshire Air AmbulanceHolbeck Elderly Aid & Brainstrust
