To coincide with Safeguarding Week, Specialist Autism Services is running a FREE autism-specific training session in Bradford. We have 50 available places and you can read more information below:

What? A presentation entitled Capacity or Choice – Respecting, Yet Supporting The Needs of Adults With Autism

When? Friday 21st October 2016 10am – 12pm

Where? The Hockney Room, Margaret McMillan Towers, Prince’s Way, Bradford, BD1 1NN.

Target Audience? Ideally suited for parents \ carers and advocates of adults with Autism Spectrum Condition, plus working professionals and support staff currently engaging with this client group.

Content? An interactive session, starting with an overview of the presentation of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), then, using case histories, looking at the challenging journey for those individuals with ASC and those working with them, around how people can have capacity, yet be extremely vulnerable and how respecting an individual’s value system can sometimes cause conflict with support staff who are adhering to the vital notion of independence and choice.
