Inspiring Employment

Your next steps to employment

Your journey to employment

The Inspiring Employment project provides an opportunity to explore the benefits of employment and the positive affect it can have on a person’s life.

Individuals will receive support from an experienced and consistent staff team to explore and develop vocational and employment opportunities.

The project is a free session funded by Bradford Council. The project is for adults (18+) with an autism or Aspergers diagnosis who live in the Bradford area.

Confidence building

During the sessions you will learn new skills, share experiences with your peers and increase your confidence to take the next steps in your journey towards employment.

You will have the opportunity to explore your strengths, abilities, talents, and areas of interest, identify goals and opportunities, and develop a range of employability skills, vocational skills, and practical skills, which will increase your confidence.

Work trials

An opportunity to try out work so that you can gain an understanding of different types of jobs and what skills may be required before committing to a type of employment, whilst at the same time demonstrating your skills to employers.

Skills for employment

During the sessions, we can support you to develop autism specific strategies, important social and communication skills, and explore reasonable adjustments that you may need in employment.

We can help you to develop a clear understanding of employment, create an employability toolkit including your CV and cover letter, help to build your confidence when using the telephone, help you to prepare for and improve your interview skills.

During the sessions we can also support you to understand job descriptions, search for jobs, attend interviews and explore how work will affect your current benefits.
